Enough to wrap these basic Unix/Linux commands around the above to have it traverse whatever directory hierarchy you might have your files stored in.And the software is already on your computer.HTH That's really a great idea. So even though most store files have the ISRC encoded (though I've heard from someone else that some iTunes files don't have it encoded), the code is not visible in most tag editor's ISRC field. The iTunes code is definitely visible in MediaInfo and Kid3, but not in their standard ISRC field. It's in the XID or a custom Vendor field in those two programs.You could try other tag editors like MetadataTouch or Jaikoz or MP3Tag. They might have added the capability to view the "hidden" iTunes code, but the code is probably not going to be visible in their standard ISRC field (unless they've specially programmed it to appear there). They would probably have it appear in a separate custom tag like Kid3 and MediaInfo do.I would still try a hex editor (HxD or similar), searching an iTunes file or Amazon file for "ISRC" or "isrc" (without the quotes). It's fast and easy and it always works for me. If Apple or Amazon put a code in the AAC or MP3 file, it will find it. And if there's no code in the file, it will find nothing.
