Google's homepage doodle is playing double duty today - honoring the 154th birthday of ferris wheel inventor George Ferris as well as Valentine's Day. The interactive doodle allows Google users to spin the two ferris wheels that make up the two O's in the search giant's logo. Each spin produces graphics of two animals and then charts their love story. A frog and a bird take a romantic canoe ride and a horse and a lion watch the moon, while an octopus is not amused by a bear's selection of a sushi date night. An octopus, meanwhile, re-enacts the John Cusack boombox scene from Say Anything for his duck friend. Ferris, meanwhile, got his start in something a bit more practical than the fairground ride that bears his name. Initially, he focused on building railroads and bridges, testing the metal used for these endeavors via the Pittsburgh-based G.W.G. Ferris & Co. But the ferris wheel emerged thanks to the 1893 Chicago World's Columbian Exposition, which asked innovators to create something more fantastic than the Eiffel Tower, which had made a splash at the Paris Exposition. Ferris spent $400,000 on a wheel that could carry 40 people, and it debuted - a bit late - on June 21, 1893. The money spent on the wheel, however, left Ferris broke. He sued unsuccessfully to recoup some of the profits from the wheel. Other sites - like Coney Island - erected ferris wheels, but did not provide payment to Ferris. Ultimately, he died

Day.”-->Though no sequel was ever made from a Brat Pack film, it wasn’t for lack of ideas or wanting. John Hughes expressed a strong desire to revisit several of his iconic characters, including the brain, the athlete, the basket case, the princess, and the criminal that made up The Breakfast Club. Hughes’ original idea was to catch up with the gang a decade after the original film, but he ended up losing interest in the project over time, telling the Hartford Courant in 1999, “There's no excuse that could ever put them in the same room ever again. There isn't anything in their lives after high school relevant to that day.”5. FERRIS BUELLER 2: ANOTHER DAY OFF-->5. FERRIS BUELLER 2: ANOTHER DAY OFFAs if a failed television series weren’t enough, revisiting Ferris Bueller on his 40th birthday was yet another thing on John Hughes’ to-do list. And there’s even a script, penned by Rick Rapier, which sees Ferris (now a motivational speaker) facing a midlife crisis as he approaches the big 4-0. So he enlists Cameron, now his business manager, to play hooky for a day and party like it’s 1986. Considering that it would be difficult to make a Ferris Bueller sequel without Matthew Broderick—who is now in his early 50s—and that it has been four years since Hughes’ untimely passing, seeing this long-gestating project come to fruition seems unlikely.-->As if a failed television series weren’t enough, revisiting Ferris Bueller on his 40th birthday was yet another thing onOrgSync User Manual by OrgSync - Issuu
The catacombs, the course swings to the rightto the next passageway. At the next cavern, the course turns immediatelyto the left; severe braking is required beforehand, especially with high-poweredvehicles, to prevent swinging too wide and colliding with the wall of thecavern. Exiting the catacombs, the player is now on the grounds of the Louvre. The shaft of blue light in the distance indicates the next checkpoint;the best way to reach it is to align precisely, then nitrous-jump off thehuge glass pyramid, flying either over the Louvre on onto its roof, thencontinuing on toward this checkpoint. The next checkpoint is just to the left of the main roadway, at theentrance to a tunnel. Keeping to the right all the way through will seethe player emerge on the other side, where the player must then pass throughthe narrow alleyway opposite the tunnel's exit. Several more checkpointscause the player to loop around the block to the left (at one point dealingwith yet another police roadblock) and re-enter the tunnel at the samepoint. Back in the tunnel, the course heads first along the right fork, thenalong the left fork. Upon exiting the tunnel, the course winds througha narrow alleyway opposite the tunnel's mouth. This leads to the next street, where the course heads to the right and toward the Louvre once again. At the next checkpoint (alongside the Louvre), the course head to theright and once again climbs the mini-mountain toward Sacré-C?ur.The final checkpoint is on the opposite side of the tall white cathedral, and can be attained while airborne. Finally, the Finish Line is locatedon the highway. ==============================================PARIS: IAN: THE ART OF RACINGThe beginning of this linear race is extremely tricky. The course headstoward the Louvre grounds, passing underneath a moving Ferris Wheel, sothe player must be able to squeeze through the narrow space without smashinginto one of the cars on the Ferris Wheel. Then, there is a maze of various-sizedplanters between the Ferris Wheel and the first checkpoint. Now the course heads to the left, and is extremely linear for some timeuntil it loops back into the Louvre complex. This time, the course headsfirst through the maze, then underneath the Ferris Wheel. Once past the Ferris Wheel for the second time, the course speeds aheadto L'Arc de triomphe; the checkpoint is directly underneath this monument, where the French Tomb of the Unknowns is located. The best route from herefor the next checkpoint is a forty-five degree turn to the right, takingthe curving roadway there through another checkpoint and eventually throughthe open-air 'gap' at Palais de Chaillot. Once clear of the palace, thenext checkpoint is to the left on the next street. Almost immediately, the course heads down a ramp to river-level. Itis extremely easy to be caught off-guard by this, and it is difficult toget back down to river-level if the ramp is initially missed. The player must make use of the first possibility to break to the right.Once in this 'park,' there is a ramp to the left leading up to street-level.Looping around with a. Dark Universe, it didn't set a very high precedent. So perhaps it's better that the studio decided to scrap the entire universe in 2019, taking Tom Cruise and any Mummy sequels along with it. 8 Never Happened: John Hughes Was Keen To Make Another Breakfast Club Movie But Then Lost Interest Via hollywoodreporter.com Initially, John Hughes was very keen to make another Breakfast Club movie, but over the years the idea lost its appeal. "I know everybody would love to watch it, but I'm too fond of those characters...there's no excuse that could ever put them in the same room ever again," Hughes said in a 1999 interview. 7 Never Happened: The Ferris Bueller Sequel Would Have Caught Up With Ferris As He Hits 40 Via esquire.com Back in 2011 Rick Rapier, an amateur screenwriter, enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame when he released a script for a follow-up Ferris Bueller movie. In his version, Ferris was now a 40-year-old businessman, desperately overworked and in need of a day off. Sadly for Rapier, no movie studios came forward to buy the script. 6 Still Hoping: A Script Has Been Written For Princess Diaries 3 Via elle.com Princess Diaries fans have been waiting a long time for a third movie and although rumors have been flying around for years, it's uncertain whether or not it will ever happen. What we do know is that Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews are both keen to make it happen, so let's hope it does! 5 Never Happened: Mike Judge Turned Down The Chance To Make Office Space 2, After Difficulties With The First Production Via relevantmagazine.com Although Office Space is now considered a cult classic, creator Mike Judge has no plans to make a sequel. The motors have to be small so it is impractical to climb steep lifts, thus most lifts of this type are in an upward spiraling helix to maximize real estate and minimize the grade of the ascent. This system employs anti-rollback devices just as any other roller coaster and once at the top of the lift the train disengages the electrified rail and gravity takes over.Push Spiral LiftAnother lift hill system in which the track is configured in an upward spiral is called the Push Spiral Lift. However, unlike the electric lift there are no motors attached to the cars. In this case the vehicles are literally “pushed” up the spiral lift hill. A central rotating structure inside of the spiraling track makes contact with a wheel on an arm attached to the vehicle. As the structure rotates the wheeled arm rides up the structure until it reaches the top where the track pulls away from the structure and gravity takes over again. This technology is found in Zamperla’s Flying coasters, three of which exist in the North America, Soarin’ Eagle at Scream Zone (formerly the Flying Coaster at Elitch Gardens), Superflight at Rye Playland, and Timewarp at Canada’s Wonderland, as well as Puss in Boots’ Giant Journey at Universal Studios Singapore.Ferris Wheel LiftAnother highly unusual device to get the coaster vehicle to its highest point is the Ferris wheel lift. One of these was actually built at Freestyle Music Park (now closed and formerly called Hard Rock Park) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A single car was rolled out of the station and onto a short piece of track attached to a rotatable ring fixed to the inside of a Ferris wheel. The Ferris wheel would complete half a rotation while the track segment stayed upright the entire time. Want to see an electronic concert at ferris? fill out the survey on OrgSync! Down (22/30). Go into the other building and turn left orright into either locker room. Follow the corridor around into the swimmingpool area. Stay away from the dogs by hugging the left wall around to the holein the wall to the grassy field beyond. Head towards the ferris wheel, andsnipe the two guards in your way. The timer stops as soon as you reach thefield. The upcoming section of the level is quite possibly the hardest in thegame so far so take a deep breath. You'll have to hold your position by theferris wheel until the helicopter (which is 10 km away mind you) arrives. Youcan use your claymore mines and C4 to set up defenses around you and MacMillan, but between you and me, he can take care of himself. From what I've seen, thebest places to hide out are on the far side of the bumper cars, which is southof the ferris wheel, or camp by MacMillan. There are no autosaves after the 6km point, when enemy helicopters lower additional troops into the area. Holdingout isn't really a problem unless you're unlucky and all the troops throwgrenades at you at the same time. Its making it to the chopper that's the hardbit. My recommendation is to plant C4 near the far groupings of cars as youcarry MacMillan to his sniping position by the ferris wheel. If you get too faraway from him, he'll die. The groups of two to three cars mark where the enemytroops will be lowered from the helicopters. When the helicopters finishdropping off their loads, detonate the C4 and run to the south side of thebumper cars area. You can hold out here until the chopper arrives. On Hardeneddifficulty, you'll be pelted with flashbangs and grenades at this position, sobe forewarned, this is no cakewalk. AtComments
